The Puppies Are Two Days Old

And they are doing really well!

It's mesmerising to watch them, even though they don't do much. Their eyes are not open yet and neither are the ears, so all they can do is crawl to the nearest bar and drink (Rosie's boobs). Sometimes they will fall asleep like that, hanging off the nipple. When they can't find the bar, you hear the cute little squeaks. Then mummy Rosie picks them up and points them in the right direction. Or I do it.
The pups are using whatever little ability they have to get to the nipple. They walk and climb over each other and push each other out of the way. One boy kept missing the nipple and was sucking his brother's ear and was getting so disappointed. It was both cute and funny.

Mummy Rosie is still super proud of her bunch. She hardly ever leaves them. She woke me up in the middle of the night to go to the toilet and then she came to me for a cuddle for five minutes before she went back to her brood. She must be exhausted but so happy. There is a permanent smile on her face that is so contagious! Love my little girl!
